IBM rarely, if ever publicly, talks about the future of IBM Z. When IBM's sales managers have a oneon-one client conversation (under NDA), they might inform the customer about the next processor, but the company rarely talks about the mid- to long-term future publicly. Many sales organizations continue to operate as they have for years: At headquarters, executives work with sales leaders to set revenue targets for the year.
