Financial services companies have been the target of a serious, sustained, and well-funded DDoS campaign for more than a year. What these attacks have continued to demonstrate is that DDoS will continue to be a popular and increasingly complex attack vector. DDoS is no longer simply a network issue, but is increasingly a feature or additional aspect of other advanced targeted attacks. The motivation of modern attackers can be singular, but the threat landscape continues to become more complex and mixes various threats to increase the likelihood of success. There have certainly been cases where the MSSP was successful at mitigating against an attack but the target Website still went down due to corruption of the underlying application and data. In order to defend networks today, enterprises need to deploy DDoS security in multiple layers, from the perimeter of their network to the provider cloud, and ensure that on-premise equipment can work in harmony with provider networks for effective and robust attack mitigation

An ongoing cyberespionage campaign against a range of targets, mainly in the energy sector, gave attackers the ability to mount sabotage operations against their victims. The attackers, known to Symantec as Dragonfly, managed to compromise a number of strategically important organizations for spying purposes and, if they had used the sabotage capabilities open to them, could have caused damage or disruption to energy supplies in affected countries. Read more into the research on these attacks in this Symantec Security Response special report.

When call center agents don’t have access to an EMR, consumer demographic, sociological and other data, nor an understanding of marketing campaigns, agents are inefficient, reactive and unable to personalize interactions with patients and consumers. The disjointed call center experience harms the health system’s ability to find, guide, and keep patients for life. The call center is often the first touch for many prospective healthcare customers, and Scripps Health recognized these challenges. They made the pivot from call center as cost center to strategic lynch pin in their patient experience strategy. Call center agents are now delivering a world-class patient experience as they provide physician referrals, take class registrations, and serve as a clearing house for general information . An added bonus of the shift is they can now integrate outbound calling into campaign efforts, and measure the full impact of marketing efforts and strengthen marketing’s ROI. Get your free copy of

After decades in the limelight, email remains the most powerful channel for eCommerce marketers. And this success continues even as many eCommerce marketing teams rely heavily on batch and blast emails that go to their entire list without any customization. While such efforts clearly bring in revenue, they also leave money — a lot of money — on the table. Recognizing that largely untapped opportunity, top eCommerce marketers have started to take a more strategic approach to email. Mobile has become the first screen for consumers in terms of internet time spent. Hyperlocal location data is unique to mobile and provides a lot of new, valuable information about consumers. Today’s sophisticated buyers demand more transparency in location data science, better campaign performance and ROI from attribution modeling. Finding the right partner that can help build the bridge between real-world consumer behavior and mobile programmatic advertising in a transparent way is essential. To meet those challenges and address the demand for top quality location data, adsquare integrated a global database of HERE Places in April 2017. By leveraging HERE Places and overlaying raw location data of anonymous users with POI data points, adsquare is able to understand exactly what consumers are doing in the real world: what places they visit, when and how often. Location3 client Mountain Mike’s Pizza and their franchisees face significant competitive challenges when advertising on Google, which ultimately requires the need to be both incredibly efficient with campaign setup and incredibly precise when managing bids and local budgets. A quick Google keyword search for “pizza near me” in Mountain Mike’s home state of California yields over 58,000,000 results (“pizza delivery” yields 56,000,000) and often features a predictable set of ad results from industry giants like Domino’s and Pizza Hut, among others. Suffice it to say that buying “pizza”-related terms in AdWords can get incredibly expensive, incredibly quickly, if a local franchisee’s budgets and bids are not managed with precision. When you combine that fact with limited location-level advertising budgets, our team atLocation3 was presented with a significant challenge in helping Mountain Mike’s Pizza generate increases in customer pizza orders whilesimultaneously ensuring that ad spend c
